I've used HRBlock software for several years with great simplicity. I can do my taxes in 2 hours with all of the paperwork ready!

This year's version was every bit as simple, easy to use and thorough as all previous years that I have used H&R Block Deluxe on the Federal level. I ran into one omission in the State version for my home state of Oregon that could have cost me extra state income tax. The omission was that even though I did indicate my Federal retirement income in the income questions, I was not directed to 2019 Schedule OR-ASC. This is important since I have 18+ years of Federal service and my retirement income from that time is not taxable due to Oregon law. It was when I reviewed my 2018 taxes that I determined which form to use to get the state income tax credit I had earned.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
