So easy to use

I've used for years and am very happy with it. Only disappointment is that, although I bought the Fed/State version, I couldn't file state return due to PA rules on insurance policy payout.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Barely acceptable product

While the software seems to work, the 2018 version required multiple updates after the last update date to get to a final state. The help screens are mostly useless, and accurate file imports are problematic. It's easy to get in an bind while building a return, and somewhat difficult to correct either incorrect entries or default entries the software makes for you. User friendly? not so much.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like the option to submit federal with no fee, but costly for submitting state return
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Better than turbo

I used this software for the first time this year.i always used to use turbo tax until last year when they stuck me with many hidden fees and software that depends on internet connection. H and r software is intelligent and geared towards the users convenience. It was easy to use and did not depend on an internet connection. When it came time to file there were no hidden fees and all went well. Great professional and adult oriented software. I don't need an online tax professional when the software works this well.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I bought this at staples at full price over a month ago and had grief with down loading the updates so next year I’ll down load for cheaper

Tax time again

I am a retiree. This is the third year I have used this software. The federal portion is always easy. But the freaking state return sucks. It is not H&R Block’s fault, it is the complicated and aggravating way it is set up in Missouri. Federal completed in 20 min. and filled. Worked on Mo. for over an hr. Once again I will have to call for help tomorrow. I wish Missouri would get their ducks in a row and get some simple, easy and not confusing tax forms!
