Help is still minimal on most advanced or even intermediate topics. It is the best of a very poor lot of tax software. They still haven’t fixed the ability to file all forms for state versions so I can’t efile. And have to mail in my state return.

I've used your products for years and even worked for you many years ago. This year was a challenge for me as it was my first year retired, so a whole new set of rules were in place. It took me a couple tries, but you guided me through the changes. My problem was at the end when I filed. I kept having to pay one charge after another to e-file my federal return. This was irritating and I don't feel it was fully explained as I was making my choices how to file and pay.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First, my data from last year, 2023, is no longer on my computer. No idea what happened. Secondly, I filed for an extension and the program kept switching back to preparing my return. Had to watch it constantly. Thirdly, it drives me nuts to not have a red dot to quit.

Generally, the product is good - it got me to where I needed to be. However, it had some limitations. Primarily, the navigation within the form (to go back and re-do a form) was confusing. Also, the check of the forms before one submits them is a bit confusing. It is not clear how one goes about correcting those items. Further, why allow certain information to even be recorded without key information (e.g., the date of a mortgage) or data to be input from other forms (e.g., 1098s or 1099s) that winds up missing some of the key information?
Pros: Easy to import documents

My rating would be five stars but for the fact that the program uses such small fonts that i have to sometimes use a magnifying glass against the computer monitor to read the words or numbers. I've mentioned this every year when i get this survey, but apparently no one really cares to make the fonts adjustable by the user.

We used a couple of others, they were good as well, but H & R program just seemed to ask the right questions. Easy to use, questions are straightforward and it guides you through most all areas that I am concerned about.
