I've used HR BLOCK to do my family's taxes for many years. When I had 4-5 filings to do, the cost of HR BLOCK was relatively cheap per filing, and although there are now FREE tax preparation packages online that I could use, I have continued to BUY yours. However, I'm now down to 2 filings a year, and both are very simple. I may try one of the free packages available next year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Too many times the program does not allow me to correct data that is wrong, like my brother's age, or other data it fills in and does not tell me where to go to change it.... or it just does not allow the change. When I override it, the program tells me I won't be able to e-file... very confusing.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare

Just have all the tax preparation documents ready at your possession and you're ready to rock. It helps you "baby steps" all the way at no time and it's fun.
