Overall good but H&R Deluxe wouldn't automatically import 1099 from Vanguard. It also would not let me e-file VA tax due to minor discrepancy between W2 box 1 and box 16.
I have been using H&R Block Deluxe Software for several years now. I generally like the quality of the program. The interview process makes it easier to complete the tax return. The process of checking for mistakes is very helpful. And the ability to import data (name, address, name of employer, adjusted gross income, etc.) is very convenient. My one criticism every year is that the program can be unclear or misleading at times. For instance, sole proprietors of a business are allowed to own solo 401Ks, and as such they can make contributions to the solo 401K as both employee and employer. The interview process for this procedure is very misleading and can lead one to believe that he or she is limited to 25% in how much they can contribute to their solo 401k, when if fact they can contribute much more than 25% but are limited to approximately 25% of the employer match.
I've been using this product for many years so I must say I depend on its accuracy and completeness. There is no way to make doing your taxes fun, but this program makes the task less taxing!
I have been using this Tax Software for years. It seem to get more complicated every year. What happened to simplified tax promises made by the last Administration?
