After using the Deluxe Sofware for 5 years, I would recommend it to other customers due to its timely updates tp minimize tax liablities. Where I got hungup, was in the security verification of AGI and other checkpoints . Due to life events and changes , more flexibility should be built into
the process to allow easy access maybe a Block dial in number or alternate feature.

The software does a good job. Have used it annually for 25 years (except for a couple years where some complicated stuff led me to use a paid preparer). Chose it because it cost less than TurboTax (and I believe still does). A few criticisms are: In many ways the software hasn't really changed much in all that time - aside from the tax rules and calculations, which they've obviously kept up with. Also, sometimes in a state edition, they leave some complicated calculation up to you, which really sucks. Also, they really shouldn't put the SSN on printed pages that are not for filing (or give you an option to, in the unlikely event that you are working on multiple returns and can't keep papers organized).

Fairly easy to use on our MacOS. But we dock one star for minor inconveniences including "Tax Summary" window that is not big enough to contains all lines of information (IRS and CA), and that many forms fail to identify where their data comes from.
