MD state problem w 1099R box 16 prevented e-submit

Federal works fine but MD state had issues with box 16 of 1099R, "St dist". I was unable to e-submit until I manually fixed the issue after doing research on the web. My 1099R had no box 16 so I manually entered the value from box 1 of the 1099R onto the manual form.
