I have used H&R Block tax software for many years and have never gone wrong with it. If you have never used it before, it's like you were sitting in front of a tax expert. The expert asks you the appropriate questions as you go through it, and you simply answer. Many explanations are provided. There is a "go to" feature, so if you have a need to jump back to any previous section, it is very simple. I have always been extremely pleased with the H&R Block tax software!
Good tax software but it has at least one Bug in PA State Return. If you have trust income that is interest and dividends, the HRB software reports that income in Dividends and Interest. So far so good. But in PA, you are supposed to fill out PA Trust forms as part of your return. If you do that, HRB reports that trust income, even though it has already reported it, as ADDITIONAL INCOME, in point of fact double reporting that income. I have commented on this for the past 4 years in reviews and no action has been taken to repair this problem. The software should just fill in the PA Trust forms from the Federal ones and NOT report interest and dividend income twice.
Not very user-friendly, and could be doing a lot better (such as noticing the imported return was an amended one). Support wasn't helpful. If the software is rounding up/down numbers, should be able to be decide whether to include the relevant forms.
This is the second year I have had trouble loading the program on my desktop computer running Win 10 Pro. The original program ran fine, but when I went to update it, it would not install. It ran fine on my laptop, but not on my computer. Contacted support, who tried, but got cut off and they never called me back. I didn't have time to call them. Still not sure where the problem was...
Make sure you Mac version is compatible. This was a huge pain for me to upgrade my Mac. And I was unable to download the State software that I paid for.
