Have been using for a few years now and am very satisfied and is a good value. Used to use another product for many years until they were bought out and they could care less about the loyalty of their customers by jacking up their price many times over with no offer of a discount. Let's hope we don't see this happen to my new go to tax software. It wasn't hard to switch and am sure glad I did.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Fairly easy to use, questions lead you through the appropriate forms and takes little time to complete your return. If you use it each year most of your personal info that is more time consuming to enter is imported from the prior year.
In general, the product has always worked well. This year I bought an EV and tax credits were incomplete in the federal product and missing from the state. I just went without the federal charger credit, and I had to manually copy the results from the state program, add the state rebate, and file manually. Not ideal, but not too terrible.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Excellent tax software. Keeps track of previous year data and automatically fills in prior data like carry-overs when appropriate. Electronic filing is very robust. I would like to see more complete and automated import of 1099 data for brokerage transactions and no-fee electronic filing for state tax.
I've used this software for many years. The interview topics are clearly written and insure you don't forget vital information/possible deductions. I just recommended it to another filer who was upset with HRB's main competitor because they missed a deduction causing her to do an amended return.
The program is robust, but isn’t fully updated until later in the filing season Also, it doesn’t show the work on a calculation change if you check a different box on the form
I've been using it for as long as it has existed, it is part of my financial life. I am disappointed they left out the shoebox this year but it still works fine.
