I have an estate that is going for multiple years due to contracts. The year after the I used HRB as usual to file the taxes Even though I put the date of death as 2017, the program created a 1040 for the estate for 2018, rather than warning me that a 1041 was actually needed. Getting and filling out the forms from the IRS was easy. Having to pay a penalty to the IRS for this information was REALLY annoying (after they rejected the 2018 forms I sent.) How about a warning from HRB? It would have felt better.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I have used this software for 3 years and it has found deductions that I would of never found. The guided software fills in the blanks with ease and the running tally in the corner helps you at every turn.
This software met my expectations of preparing my returns in a reasonable and efficient manner. So far I did not need to ask for help from their staff.
Hard to install without a disk. Have to call for help. Spent a lot of time following the instructions and software would not load. Not happy with the fact a disk is not included
