The Federal was okay but the California part was horrible. The information and instructions left me wanting. I had to go back several times to fill out the health care section, but could not figure out how to fill it out. It said if I was claiming the exemption because health care was unaffordable to click here, but there was no explanation as to what qualifies as unaffordable or what the law was. I bought this because I could download it and it was cheaper, but next time I will spend the extra money.

Slow to update. Doesn't adequately inform about software updates and what they will contain. Software refers to the website for contents of updates but the website does not have that information. Allowed me to submit my state return without telling me that the state was contemplating further changes. Disappointing and unprofessional!

The Vermont state program does not fill out page 2 of Form HS-122. If you try to fill it in manually you can not file electronically. I had the same problem last year and they haven’t fixed it yet. If you file without completing the form, you will not get your property tax rebate!

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
