Overall, the software works extremely well. The only area that might benefit from improvement is in accounting for the sale of stocks, bonds and mutual funds as reported on form 1099-B. The software seems to assume that the only way to report a short term capital gain/loss is to consider even a single transaction as a group of sales with a "VAR-S" acquisition date. If a short term transaction is entered as a single line item with a fixed acquisition date, the software assumes it is a long term transaction. There should be a way to select short term or long term independent of having to enter a single acquisition and sale as a group of sales with various acquisition dates. While this ultimately had no effect on AGI, tax due or refund amount, it did make it difficult to reconcile Schedule D with the 1099-B and 8949 forms.
This tax software is very easy to install and use. It guides (asks you questions) you through tax situations that might seem complicated. I believe it to be a great value and really like that it allows you to e-file up to 5 returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have used this software for many years without an issue. There does seem to have been a glitch in calculating my State taxes this year where my City taxes were not calculated and I have quite a bit of onerous documentation to submit.
