As a user of over 20 years, I highly recommend. With the program's questions and advice I was able to take a deduction due to the Cares Act, that I was unaware existed.
Overall, comprehensive and easy to use. One major missing area: for CA returns, if the s/w will not be automatically completing forms for all the CA credits (quite understandable; there's a bunch), instead (at minimum) refer user to the form(s) required and where to find them. For example, I learned only by accident that I needed to complete, and submit with my return, a form -- not available in the s/w -- because of claim of the College Access Credit. The lack of th electronic form also prevented me from filing electronically.
I've used this software in the past but this year, it is just NOT working well. It is hard to find things and the explanations are vague. When you go online to find a quick answer, there is nothing. Based on my experience this year with this software and also how inadequate it is with Qualified Charitable Distributions and the NEW CARES act, I will be using an accountant next year. It's too bad because in the past, this has been a fairly good software. Even the HR Block tax preparers aren't capable of doing fairly easy taxes.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
