Used in 2018 worked ok. 2019 would not import w2s or any other information. Both years I worked at same employer and other info was the same. After I electronically filed it would not let me print copies for my records of the federal but could for state.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Issue with software

I e-filed on 7/2/20 and for some reason it did not complete. I did not notice until 8/23/20 the my e-file was not submitted ... software needs to remind user the process was not completed. No my submission to the IRS is late
Pros: Easy to prepare

Love this Tax software. Used to be a Turbo Tax guy until they increased prices, never knew how great HR BLOCK software was until I switched.
Perfection would be comparative analysis of amounts on forms year over year. For example, show me I had 1099-DIV last year but not this year.

Overall program was good, although I didn't see a planning feature for yr 2020 to allow some "what if" scenarios for next year for use in early tax, liquidity and investment planning when considering IRA to Roth conversion amounts, sale of property, etc. Also, there were some of your screens that didn't allow for printing.

I have used HR Block software for a lot of years and it always worked fine. 2018 and 2019 it just didn't load without a lot of messing around. I am using the same computer for the last 5 yrs. This year, the state part of the program had a bunch of problems. In the end it failed to send it with the federals and failed to send it alone. Had to print it out and mail it. I am not thinking of using this software for 2020. Sometimes software changes don't work for everyone?
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
