One issue, after initial rejection of federal tax form, attempted to request extension and was charged a fee. What good are five free submissions if it doesn't cover what's needed.
Works well if you have a straightforward return without unusual items. You could do better with returns being prepared for a deceased taxpayer. I marked that box right at the beginning when I started my mother’s return, but you proceeded as if you were dealing with the live person including sending me an email that said “Dear Lorraine”. You should fix that.
We trusted H&R Block software for many years & will continue using it for its reliability & accuracy. However, noticing last year's AGI showed "0" we replaced it with the actual value & had the return rejected by IRS. 3 hours of research outside the program helped us solve the problem & discover a trick for e-filing the corrected return. Certainly your experts knew of this issue but omitted adequate instruction. Two additional sentences would have saved hours: 1) If you didn't file last year's taxes during the last calendar year, the IRS default for AGI is "0" & we recommend you not change it for this year's filing. And 2) To file a corrected return you must first clear the program's memory of the rejected e-file attempt, which is done by a dummy run for paper filing (don't mail it), followed by a "new" e-file selection. This worked & was accepted by IRS.

Activation code invalid

The software itself was very easy to use and I completed my taxes in a timely manner. However, the activation code did not work and I had to end up paying full price for e-filing. The activation code is printed in big bold print. I did not have the wrong activation card. I will be getting TurboTax next year, unless I get a refund.
