I've been using H&R Block's tax prep software for many years now and it does an excellent job for me. I used to use turbo tax but switched when the company lost my trust. I used to run this software on a Windows PC but for the past few years have been using this software on my Mac. It works perfectly on either.
The questionnaire is straight forward, only taking you through the relevant sections for your situation, and offering to hand hold you in more complex parts if you need. In my case, I typical have some dividends, stock transactions and I have three rental properties. It handles these easily.
I strongly recommend this prep software if you are looking to do your taxes.

If your taxes are straight forward with no rental property or owner of a small side business, this is the best, easiest, most accurate and up to date tax software. ( microphone drop) and comes with audit assistance if ever needed at no additional costs to you.

I would recommend H&R with reservations. Explanations seemed less clear and harder to find than in previous years. Also, the program had to be reloaded - at one point it informed me that I owed five times the tax than was possible, given the amount of deductions that I was entitled to.
