So user friendly

When I started using software to do my taxes, I used "the other" brand. Switched to H&R Block several years ago because it was less expensive. So glad I did! It's much easier to use and it asks all the right questions so you don't forget anything. It gets better every year. Does a great job of importing previous year's info, which saves a lot of time. I only gave it 4 stars because it puts you in Survey Monkey after it loads, and I couldn't figure out how to get out of that without answering some very intrusive questions.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

I have been using H&R Block tax software since it was TaxCut. I find it to be completely trustworthy, easy to use, easy to find where you want to go to make changes, and the price is right. Year after year, they keep the same format so that I don't have to relearn how to use it. That, I really appreciate. It's probably the best tax program on the market, and I love filing electronically; it's quick and easy.

Great for Federal but beware on your State return

I've used H&R Block for years for my Federal and State returns. This year I discovered that the Illinois return prepared was incorrect for my family situation. Had I not done a paper return I would have owed ~$200. Instead I have a ~$400 refund. I checked my 2018 return and I paid ~$800 so I rechecked using a paper return and it's looking like I should have received a $200 refund.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

Program works very well. My only complaint is that the commands and actions are not as intuitive as they could be. Once you become familiar with the software it does what it is supposed to.

My Free filing for the Federal was not the correct

My free federal filing codes was not correct and the IRS would not accept it so I had to pay for it out of my own pocket!
