Easy to use - This was my first year using

The price got me to move from Taxact to this. Unfortunately I didn't notice that they do the SAME exact thing as all the others - The state still costs extra to eFile. I assumed incorrectly that this came with one free State efile.
It also caused my return to get rejected several times until I figured out the problem. One was that it wouldn't let me type my kids full last names which are hyphenated.
The other was that this year I am filing as Head of Household as I was divorced last year. When I imported my previous year return where I was married it put my then wife's SSN into a worksheet. This caused the IRS to reject my return saying that my spouses ssn was invalid. But this was not flagged, and it should have deleted her when it saw that I was divorced. Luckily I figured it out but this is a bug.

After years of doing my taxes on paper, and last year making the mistake of filing my taxes directly on the IRS and state websites, I am so glad I purchased H&R Block's Deluxe Software this year. After answering their questions on my itemized deductions, knowing that the federal standard deductions would prevail, I was delightfully surprised to find that they used the itemized deductions for my state. Lo and behold, I am getting much more money in both federal and state returns than I thought I would. The cost of H&R Block's software more than paid for itself. I will use them from now on without a second thought.

Fairly easy to use but I feel like the interview process has gotten more "lazy" over the years -- more barely explained checklists and less exposition for guidance. I encountered an apparent error in the "accuracy review". It said that I needed to "answer the question below" but there was no question below highlighted so I had to search the whole form for any omissions. I finally found it but it was most annoying having to hunt for it.
Overall, considering the complexity of taxes and the relatively low cost of the program, it is a good value, but I think I'd rather pay a little more for something which made the process easier.

Cons: Time consuming

Have been using this software for many years and it is so easy to use and I always get the maximum refund with minimum or no audit at all. Great value for the price and service it provides. Will always use this software for my ITR.
