took forever to install software

It took a very long time to install the H&R Block software on my Windows 10 desktop computer. I kept seeing the message "please wait, this may take a few minutes". But it actually took many hours to complete the installation of the software, not just "a few minutes". Once the software installation was completed, everything went very well. The program submitted my Federal Tax Return and my Pennsylvania Tax Return. Within an hour or two after submission, I H&R Block notified me that my Return was accepted by both the IRS and Pennsylvania.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I get the DVD in the mail every year. This year, I purchased the product on February 7, 2020. I downloaded from the email and save it, but not install it until June 27,2020. It installed the 2014 version. So I went the online route. No matter what I did, I could not get the activation code to work. Called on Monday morning, on hold for 30 minutes, got a good rep and she send me a new email. I down loaded and installed again, got the 2014 version of the code AND difficulty installing even after I turned off virus protection. I'm a programmer, I know what to do, so I was able to grab the link, change it to point to 2019 by guessing at the values and finally got a good install. Worked flawlessly after that.
I have no issue with the product, but for the past 3 years, getting the software downloaded has been impossible. And I found out the hard way that you HAVE to have the correct year software to be able to open a previous years tax return.
I have used this product for 10+ years, I will go with someone else next year. It's taxes, I'm already mad at having to do them, I don't need the hassle of a hard to install product.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

It says "return was transmitted" but actually not

It says "return was transmitted" but actually not. The software says the return in pendign state for a week. Finally I saw the email that I need call a number to have the return filed.
Spend hours on the phone to get the issue resolved.

Hard to maneuver from one section to another. Charged me for submitting federal return when it was advertised as being free.

The H&R Block Deluxe software application worked fine for preparing my return. Immediately after filing I was unable to open my return or the application and there is no help that I can find to help me understand what happened. There is now means that I have been able to find for technical help.

We use the CD they send out each year, once we started using them years ago. The software downloads easly, and is very user friendly with step by step easy to follow directions, checking for accuracy, and emailing the federal & state return. And let you know that the returns have been received and accepted.
