The quality of the program declined substantially this year. I contact the company about several substantial errors in the program which either did not describe the rules correctly or did not calculate correctly. One was fixed. The other you had to read the pop-up notes to find out what you were doing was not allowed.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wanted to give it four stars but I just couldn't justify knocking off a star. It doesn't dazzle with a lot of fancy footwork, it just gets the job done.

It’s an excellent product. It captures my prior year information accurately. It’s up-to-date so I don’t have to worry on missing out an item that I need to report to IRS. Federal and State filing is very convenient and so is the refund and payment. It’s great if you have a lot to consider when filing your taxes.

I have been using H & R software for the past 15 years and have always had a positive experience using it. This year I used E-FILE because I mailed a printout of my tax forms on March 31, 2020, and I have yet to receive my refund. So I tried E-FILE on June 21, 2020, and it was accepted by the IRS. So my original mailed forms must have gotten lost.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Generally a good experience with the software. The only glitch for me was some 1099-R data entered on the federal portion errored out when it would not transfer to the MN state portion. Had to mail in my MN state tax forms.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
