Accurate and consistent year after year. Structure and operation is consistent and imports previous years data effortlessly. I fire it up at tax time and count on it being the same look and feel. It easily guides you through any changes and never misses any details. We have used every year for 15+ years. I can still open and run any of the old Versions and get to the old tax info.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have used H&R Block for many years and found it user friendly and, for the most part, simply explained. User Friendly ius a must for taxes. Taxes are already complicated and the regulations hard to follow. H&R Block simplifies things so I can understand and make informed choices.

Some annoyances

1. Required info not all on same page: It is sometimes not obvious that related information will be entered on the next page, not the current one. This causes a lot of wasted time trying to find where to enter the information. Example: 1099-R box 7. State that this will be a separate question on the next page.
2. Blocked from copying selected material to paste elsewhere. It appears that selecting and copying are successful, but the material then cannot be pasted. If you are not going to allow copying, then don't allow selecting, because the user goes through all the preliminary steps, only to find pasting doesn't work. Select-copy-paste is necessary to allow a program to read material aloud to my blind husband, and for ease of recording information and filling forms
3. One reason I had to buy an extra big monitor was to make it possible to read your very tiny font in your program. The program should allow larger size font to be chosen by the user.

No Payment Verification Instruction

After making online tax payment by credit card through Blocks third-party provider, returned to Block program as instructed in checklist. Continued to final completion, but there was never instruction or opportunity to verify the online payment. Poor follow-thru by Block program.
