Great Program

I have been filing electronically for about ten years and I first discovered H & R Block in 2014. I have been using H & R Block ever since, the program is straightforward and easy to use. It walks you through each form step by step and does all the calculations for you. A big plus is that it's less expensive than the "other guys" and is just as easy to use, if not easier.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

No arithmetic errors but could use improvement. Poor jargon filled explanations. Still as much of a black box as the IRS forms. Can't handle common situations such as in-software computation of annualized state tax. Forces use of paper return. Sometimes misses essential forms without identifying what is missing and notifying the person entering data. Could be clearer when a spouse fills out the interview questions. You have both first names - if you were write the names rather than "You" and "Spouse" there would be less room for error. Bottom line: better than paper forms as you don't have to worry about computation errors, but a long way from being a good tool for someone who does taxes once a year.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought it last year, some trouble getting started so late. Glad filing date was extended. Have used the disc so many times in the past, I like the download feature more.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
