Easy to use and quick. Audit assistance part will be useful if there is any problem in future. However it does not include info from many institutions. There is no way to import info for a single account out of many. Many explanations are not clear or obvious.
I've been using H&R Block Deluxe software for 15 years or longer but the interview process is somewhat confusing. You have to be very careful answering the questions because one wrong answer can make a big difference and it's not real easy to find the problem and fix it. I wish I could just enter the data on the forms.
I was very disappointed in your tax software - difficult to use and forms didn't print out like you said they would. I have used TurboTax forever in the past and will go back to them next year. (Even this little review space is badly designed.)
I've been using H&R Block for more than 10 years and I find it to be user friendly, very flexible and comprehensive. Additionally, it let's you know that some items that are flagged may not need to fixed or changed because they are legitimate transactions. Prior to this, I was using Turbo Tax, which at the time had some small glitches that were hard to navigate.
This year I had a problem where I got all the way to the point of filing when the software insisted that a value had to change. It *forced* me to fill out my tax return "wrong" in order to proceed (and was not easy to do it either). H&R Block overall works well, the problems are 99% due to our terrible/complex tax laws. There is no other software (that I've tried) which is better. This year I had a second glitch with my property tax return (which it will not allow you to file but does let you fill it out) where it showed a refund of several hundred dollars but then when I manually printed to form to send it in there was no refund.
