Positives: Consistent year over year. Interview process is easy. Obtaining data from prior year and downloads of W2, 1099, brokerage statements are good. Negatives: Always trying to charge for transmitting State Taxes. Just dumb. I paid already it should come with the product.
If you are not going straight through the questionnaire then navigation is confusing. I’ve been using this product for 10 years and still haven’t figured out navigation.
Thanks again for the opportunity to vent. I might have been a little rough on the first request for a review because of the PDF995 debacle. That may have been a virus on my machine that was there before I loaded the H&R Block software. The only problem I had after that was that my return was REJECTED three times. Fortunately I had enough medication on hand to calm me down somewhat. I went ahead and filed by mail. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Wow what a nerve wrenching ordeal.
This is the 4th year I've used H&R Block after switching from that other program. H&R continues to excel. Easy to load and update and super easy to fill out thanks to the interview format. It always takes me longer to organize my records than it does to actually answer the questions (i.e., fill out the forms) and it's very helpful to have a running total of amount due or amount of the refund right on the screen. No need to know all the new tax laws, as this program has it figured out. A free state program, free federal filing and effortless state filing are all reasons I switched to H&R Block, and will continue to use for years to come.
Makes tax submission about as painless as possible. Guides you through what steps re required, gathers input from forms, and does all the nasty stuff for you. Need a for? It's go t it. Also knows whether you actually need that extra form or not. Very satisfied
