I have been using H&R Block for years. I haven't had any trouble with efile in the past, but this year the updates were different. Eventually I realized the format had changed, but it worked very smoothly when I figured out where to get the updates. The program would not allow me to file until I had the updates. This was a good feature, but difficult for me to discover. I was getting frustrated with thinking I would have to go back to mailing in my return.

I couldn’t get it to update

I had difficulty e-filing because the software wouldn’t update. I had to manually update it multiple times before it would take. My credit card was charged 6 times as i tried to navigate through the update and as i tried to e-file. Very frustrating
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Always good deals on it if you watch for them. Have used both this and Turbotax over the years and this one with only a couple exceptions. easy to follow and do, I recommend this to any taxpayer.

They hold you hostage with the state tax. Will not let you print out your federal unless you buy the state. Try a couple different ways to get around it but their software is tricky. It wouldn't recommend it time to go to a different software program.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Printing options need improvement(ie) select individual forms and disregard pages without data. Some forms should have duplex option..
