This software makes it so easy to do your taxes. It also remembers stuff stuff from the previous year (if you import) so that it knows what forms you've filled out in the past and has them ready for you this time. Definitely will keep working with H&R!

Won't Correct Income Issues; Refuses to E-file

I had only untaxable social security income. The H&R block software correctly assigned me the single filer deduction, which happened more than my taxable income. But the program would not e-file my return until I corrected this "issue," insisting I had to show some taxable income. There was nothing to correct. I had to print and mail my federal return. It's hard to imagine a programmer at H&R Block didn't forsee this.
Pros: Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The software was quite easy. I will say there were some things that were easier to fill out on their website than they were on the software. One example of this would be the 1099Q form. It was a bit hard for me to understand what to put in on the software; however, it was extremely easy online since it followed the same format as the form. Other than this everything was nice and smooth. Moreover, the price was amazing and a great deal. I would honestly and wholeheartedly recommend it.

This program makes preparing taxes a breeze. Wonderful product! This is the first year that I used the feature that imports information from a PDF file of the previous year's tax return. It worked perfectly. Normally a PDF file would not be my preferred method to import information but that's the only thing that my family member had. I'll definitely be buying the 2020 version of the program next year to do my taxes.

Late Alabama State software

Before the end of each tax year, I like to guess as best I can the tax consequences of the year. Well, the Alabama tax software never showed up until after the start of the new year (2020) which did me little good in making end of year financial decisions. One such decision was to take a capital loss or not to offset a capital gain. The Alabama tax (and Federal) after using the software revealed I should have sold. I'm VERY disappointed!
