Last 3 years have the same problem. I can't send my State by email really irritating me. Federal is fine but when I send state it says a payer id is missing and it is on the fed. So I have to mail my state. Just madding!!
The federal portion worked but was tricky to navigate, I often could not go back to previous entries and had to go somewhere else and just keep clicking "next" to get where I needed to be. It also generated 152 "Verify" alerts and would not tell me what needed to be verified; eventually I just filed anyway and the IRS accepted it. The state part was a disaster! It screwed up royally (state standard deduction is $0? not according to the paper instructions!), got rejected by the state and I ended up going in and doing it all by hand and filing on the state website.
I’ve used HRB tax software for the past ten years and it very easy to use and submit returns to the irs and state. It’s almost impossible to itemize now with the new tax laws, would like to see this software offer options on that versus just using the standard deduction.
Not well put together and way overpriced for what it does. Import function isn't accurate and doesnt work for too many providers. State returns shouldn't be 20 dollars.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
