I've used H&R block for over 5 years with no problem. I used a different software once and got audited. I had to pay $500 extra tax then I expected. Never used it again.

OK, but serious problems with Fed&State e-filing

Good in general - have been using it for years. Federal e-file refused with Form 2210. I deleted it (which increased my taxes) and then it e-filed. State e-file unsuccessful later (saying something about Dividends/Sched B?). One of the customer reps on the phone was superb, very patient and polite! She gave me an entire new app to download (updates didn't seem to fix some things).

Everything was fine until I submitted. It asked for my AGI. Since it was filled in by you, I mistakenly assumed it was correct. It wasn't. I had to look it up on my last years forms

This software is very comprehensive for all kinds of tax situations. It's important to note, however, that basic understanding of tax law is necessary for those using any tax software that is available. I have been using it for years and personally prefer the H&R Block software over Turbotax.
