I've used Block and Tax Cut prior to rebranding for about thirty years. Very disappointed this year as Form 8911 was not supported by the Deluxe software. After several calls, I was told I would need to upgrade to a business program at a cost that would take 16% of my 8911 credit. I had to file and then manually file an amended return to obtain my credit from form 8911. Very disappointed, last year I will use Block.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rationale for asking questions is not always clear in regard to personal situation and not always certain how information is applied. Data gathering commands or sequence of entries are not always self explanatory. But all eventually sorted out and a first time user of this program so bit different approach than accustomed. For price difference, worth the try!

Generally simple to follow

The interview is easy to follow for a simple tax return. When additional forms are involved, there are some areas that are complicated and need some "simplification" to make the program truly efficient. The pages for Rents and Royalties needs some work. We also had an issue with Schedule A, Line 5d. this year. The program had "0" on that line, where the "form" had a dollar amount. Not sure why it didn't carry into the Schedule, but I had to manually enter it to get the Accuracy Check to accept the page.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast

Works really well. Would be 5 stars I’d there weren’t little annoying technical glitches that were not obvious to fix without effort.i would give it 5 stars if it came with a manual of how to fix the glitches. When you call they tell you how to fix it, so they know the issues and could either fix it ahead of time, or give you a quick cheat sheet so you don’t have to call. The actual filling in the forms and getting all the tax deductions works great and is very easy to use - that part is a 5 stars.
