One: I found the two 'screens' concerning applying a refund to the estimated 2020 tax confusing at best. On the screen titled "Tell us if any of these special situations apply", the first box, for example, is "I want to apply all or part of refund of $1,000 to 2020 estimated tax." I think it should read "I want to apply all or part of THE AMOUNT OVERPAID OF $3,000 to 2020 estimated tax." It isn't until the next screen that one enters the amount to apply, which in this example is $2,000. That establishes the amount to be refunded ($1,000) seen on the previous page. Note that Form 1040 has this process laid out in it's proper logical order.
Two: On the screen titled "Provide Your Email Address" there is a note to "add taxes-noreply@hrblock.com to your safe-sender list." As this email address spans two lines, there is a dash after "taxes". As it turns out this dash is part of the address, not just an indication of a split word. That might be made clearer.
The tax program generally was easy to use. It uses the most updated tax laws and changes. The program's questions make preparing both the federal and state returns on the easy side.
Easy to understand. Imported last years taxes from my records. Worked as expected. My e-filed Federal return was accepted in 8 minutes after submitting. Printed and mailed in my State return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
As always, the interview was straight forward and led me through the process quickly and efficiently. This year I did notice that some comments showed up that were not necessary or out of place, but it was obvious that it was, so no big deal. My continued gripe is that an old feature from many years ago, a one-page comparison of this years return to last year's return is not available. Finally, although I think that the price compared to other software is good, I think that the State e-file fee is excessive and at least one should be included with the State program.
