Solid Product with Minor Glitches

I've been using H&R Block's Deluxe version for several years. While it does a great basic job of importing the previous year's categories & sources and is generally easy to use, it does have a few glitches. For example, when reporting an individual stock sale (vs. just listing the subtotals for a category from a broker where cost basis was reported to the IRS), I've been unable to figure out how to indicate the cost basis was reported for that individual sale. Even going into the forms, the program won't let me change a Box E to D.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Pretty good software

I've used HR Block for about 10 years now. It is straightforward to use. However it gets confusing if you have multiple rentals or royalties. I had to go to the forms and figure out copy1, copy2, and copy3 to assign expenses to the correct properties. Also they are very little help in getting the right amount for federal and state oil depletion allowance. Also I had a very large deduction appear from transferring data from Quicken. It caused a $6,000 error that the software review did not find. Fortunately the result was so crazy I spent time going back through everything till I found an amount that was not tied to anything.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I do not appreciate the fact that I had to uninstall the program and reinstall the program just to be able to submit my taxes to the governments. I don't believe I'll be buying this software next year. But, thanks to the efforts of their great customer service, I was able to figure that out and at least able to send my taxes over. A+ for customer service, D- for the awful software.
