I have not used other programs so I don't have any frame of reference. Have been using for more than 10 years and I am fairly satisfied. Cost of basic program seems fair but charges for additional state and additional filing fees seem excessive especially since the state programs do not allow any overrides. (Example : CT - use of standard deduction vs itemized)
Intuitive and easy to use. Good value. Would like to see a more robust "what if" feature. e.g. if I contributed to an IRA how does it impact my return
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like the title said, even though there are free versions, there is one thing worth the cost of this and that is the sense of comfort I get. I hit the Efile button and now unless I screwed up, I can feel good it is done. In this day and age of Covid-19 I am glad there something that feels good.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I use H R block each year. Transfer past year data and easy guide.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Great product. Very easy to use, and I have had 0 issues in my 3-4 years of using the software. I really like the new functionality of being able to upload PDFs and/or submit secure photos of certain tax forms to minimize the amount of manual data entry. Would highly recommend!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
It is easy to install and use. Provides guidance for those that need it.

I have used H&R Block software for several years. It always gets the job done, although could be more helpful on K-1 forms.. Only complaint this year - the program instructed me to print off and include certain worksheets to attach to my state return, but the printed copies had in bold print "DO NOT FILE". Quite confusing.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good, but it needs to be more user friendly for MN

For preparers of Minnesota taxes, this program needs to make preparation for form M1PR (property tax rebate) a SEPARATE option. Minnesota does not send out property tax information until the end of March, and it can arrive as late as the end of April. H&R Block's Minnesota State program, assumes that we'd have this information by the time we file our federal and state taxes. That is just NOT TRUE. Also, to reduce the opportunity for tax fraud, the IRS encourages people to file early. Again, this is NOT POSSIBLE because H&R Block's Minnesota Tax program integrates the property tax rebate form into the Minnesota State tax program. So, nice try, but no "cigar". Even the "help" does not explain how to file the M1PR form separately.
