Reasonably good interview flow, but I am a former Jackson Hewitt tax preparer. One thing to add for the customer to access and print: the Qualified Dividend and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet. This worksheet is referenced on line 20 of Schedule D. The actual worksheet is on page 33 of the 1040 Instructions. This worksheet was used to prepare my return this (and most) years; why not provide access to it?
Very easy to use and can answer any questions you might have. I’ve been using this tax software for over twenty years and it’s never steered me wrong!!

The H&R Block Deluxe Tax preparation software makes my tax preparation easy. Each section has detailed worksheets to collect all the needed information. The software then puts the date into the correct places in the tax forms and checks for errors. This software package allows you to report most investment income, including tax-free income subject to the AMT rules.
Year to year data compare report does a poor job matching and especially poor when one year has additional entries. Interview questions can be confusing or misleading unless you view actual forms. Printing is not very intelligent when attempting to print all forms to be filed in one submission with 2 sided printing. Output should print first page of forms on front of the printed page. Not able to deselect instruction pages when selections forms for filing to be printed. Lacks a tool to plan for next years taxes and withholdings. Product is could be priced a bit lower given some of the shortcomings.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
Royalty income on the Sch E is a mess. I worked for 18 years as a tax preparer so pretty well know what I am doing. Had to take a calculator, add all the royalties by hand and plug them in as one item even though they were from 4 different companies.
