Although I've used other software before I've always had a preference for H&R Block's. This year's app looked and functioned very similar to prior years which is a good thing. The only snag I had was when filing the state taxes an error came up saying I needed to attach a PDF. I never had to do that before and it took me a minute to figure out what to do. It would have been better if step by step instructions had popped up during the interview process or error check. Other than that everything was easy.
Worked ok, I had an issue with the 1099-R where they check the box for taxable amount not determined, the program leaves you hanging as to what to do with that entry. The print portion of the program could be better, it was a little bit confusing. Over all I was satisfied that I could not have completed the tax returns with out it.
Had to switch computers to install because my everyday windows 10 computer could not run the software from a drive other than the C drive. That is a problem for many computers today because the boot drive is only 32gb.
I have been using this software for many years, even back to it's beginning when it was called TaxCut. I have found it easy to navigate and a good value for the money spent. This package handles extensive investment situations and state filing just fine. I love it and plan to continue to use it in the years ahead.
