Been using H&R Block Tax Software for about 15 years now, always easy to load & use, inexpensive, up to date, reminds me of deductions, adjustments & credits I might have overlooked, does the calculations so I don't have to grind them out and/or make transposition mistakes, e-files with a click, provides explanatory info as needed, has option to consult a tax rep if needed, provides representation to IRS & State if something is questioned. Very pleased!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Works well. Easy to use. Only improvement I can think of is to interface the estimated tax portion with this year's tax portion so that all you have to do to estimate is to change values from current year to next year, using the interview screens as in the current year. Otherwise, the program does all I need it to do, and I used it when running a small business and now as a retired person.
I have used H&R Block (formerly TaxCut) software for many years, and always find it to be easy helpful. Over time, more and more features have been added to make the process even easier and more helpful. It is typically more affordable to purchase than TurboTax. It's nice that the software has always included 5 free federal e-files.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Does not automate handling of Trust QBI, then will not submit electronically when forced manual edits are made. I understand the former as tax area is not something with wide usage, but the later is objectionable. Final review indicates problems but inadequate guidance to resolve. Just showed the entire 1040 and said answer the question, but no highlighting of problem area or other guidance. Other numerous quibbles I'd be glad to share but no place to feedback except this review.
