Much better than TurboTax

I have used H&R Block Deluxe + State many times in the past and had no issues whatsoever. However, this time I did have a few minor issues. When getting ready to submit the Federal return, the H&R Block software had the incorrect AGI from the year before, which took a while to figure out how to fix. I don't know where it got the incorrect AGI from! Later, the Fed rejected the first submittal due to a birthday mismatch, again from the prior year's uploaded data file. I don't know where it got that date from! However, I still prefer H&R to TurboTax.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I down loaded using diskette sent via U. S. Mail at great price. Great product. Very happy to use it.

It went smoothly as always, except at one point near the end it asked me to input amounts that were to appear in boxes 5d and 5e from the previous year's return. I never did find them, but did calculations and input numbers. The system took it' so i hope my return doesn't get rejected.

Tried to go back to T***boTax but it didn't work

After several years of using H&R block, I thought my return this year would be too complicated so I bought T***boTax. It did not handle returning an IRA contribution properly. Their program contradicted IRS rules! So I went back to H&R Block and it worked properly.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good calculations. Trust it. Want Print Button on EACH page. Better word help search...took forever to find simple answer, without taking bait for pay-extra to get answer. Also, not right to pay extra for State e-file if buy Fed w/ State software.

Interview questions for Vermont State Tax had no way to enter deductions for U.S. Obligations. Had I not got this and manually entered this on the form itself I would have lost a sizable deduction I was entitled to. Furthermore, there was a error in the error checking of 1099-Div forms where it stated the form could not be valid even though it was downloaded directly from the Financial institution and absolutely accurate. This was corrected finally by a software update done in early March.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
