I find the software intuitive & easy to use. My only complaint would’ve that if I want to skip a topic and go back to it, it’s a bit clunky. While I’m able to simply go back by selecting on the apprpriate menu, once I’m done with the topic, it wants to walk me through remaining items again. Also, after accuracy check, there’s no option to dismiss the minor issues after confirming them. They remain as issues. Non accountants might think the return is not ready for filing.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

I like the simplicity of the program except at the very end, tax payment. Paying taxes procedure is unclear. Fed 1040 paying with credit card i woukd appreciate knowing the transaction fee BEFORE choosing a payment method. And a better indication that State taxes must be payed by check would be good to know.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I like H&R's comprehensive approach to tax preparation. The interview tool comprehensive, easy to setup and use, and reasonably simple for the nonprofessional. Manual data entry is fairly straight forward and uncomplicated. Overall their H&R's Deluxe 2019 Software allowed me to file my taxes quickly, without major problems.

I was fed up with H&R last year, but I decided to give it another chance. Big Mistake! Some of the forms were not even ready until MARCH! The dividend and royalties are wrongly calculated. Interview boxes and IRS forms sometimes are not in synch. The changes in the actual IRS forms are hard to make – and if you manage to do it, the program says that you have to do a paper file. Nest year: the will have to PAY ME before I even think about using this software.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Efficient. But I needed AZ Form 348 in software. I had to download it from the state site and fill it out by hand, which makes it impossible to file on-line.

Mostly good with a few exceptions

My biggest problem was with the New York State estimated tax payments section. The instructions said you could do an e-payment for estimated taxes or pay by check. However, the program gave error messages no matter what I did with the e-file option. I finally had to delete all the e-file forms to have it pass the accuracy review. Very frustrating and time consuming.

I have used H&R block software for many years. In several of those years, including this year, I have run into a technical problem connecting to H&R block servers: "ssl error or proxy issue". It appears to be a common error. I was not able to find a viable solution on H&R Block's web site or through Google search. The known fixes: "bring down firewall", "check/clear proxy settings" did not work. I finally discovered it is a problem with my internet provider and/or home router. I had to connect from another provider and things were fine. This shouldn't happen. My home internet is standard Verizon Fios. At the very least this 'fix' should be known and advertised.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
