It's good except if you need help

The software said my donations to thrift stores needed a property selected before filing the return. But it wasn't obvious what to select and no guidance or explanation of the options was given, so I deleted all the thrift store donations. I think in the past I could get help with getting answers to questions. It left me disappointed with this software.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1. On rental income it is easy to add income for multiple rental properties onto the first rental property. Narrative could be added to state "income for this rental only". Though I've used your software for years, I still made the mistake this year and had to go back and correct input information.
2. The 1040ES print routine caused forms for different quarters to print on front and back in the exact same location. I tried different print approaches but ended up copying the forms from those printed so they could be used. I don't recall having that difficulty in past years.
3. K-1's always difficult to input

I completed my taxes extra early this year, I have used Block to do my taxes for several years now and it keeps getting easier as I learn the program. My only gripe is that I don't think the State program integrates with the federal as well as it could. It irks me that they charge so much to electronically file the state return. Nonetheless, the program did the federal return really well.

I have been using the H & R Block tax software since the 1990's. It is easy to use and follow.
It walks you through the entire process from personal information, income, deductions, credits, and taxes...right through to submitting your Federal and State returns. I have never had an issue or problem using the H & R Block Deluxe software.
