The software experience was overall pretty good, Help desk was awful, I needed help and called for help desk, they had me on hold for over 2 hours and they kept on extending the time. I had to hang up.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Was much easier to use than Turbo tax, I purchased both, Last year I used Turbo tax for filing, Had to do an amended return , (VA) because of retired Mil Pay. VA mil Pay deduction was not easy to find on H&R, I could see that Turbo Tax was out after the younger crowd. You need to pay attention to demographics. There's over 40 print, maybe should be an over 40 tax program.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Consistent performance; needs faster corrections

I am a long-time user of H&R Block tax software. The interview can be "clunky" but you get used to it. The frustration that I have is when I submit issues, I would like feedback on if the fix will be implemented prior to the filing deadline. An example this year - the foreign tax credit interview did not have "RIC" (or "VAR") as an option in the menu of "countries" for foreign taxes related to mutual funds (where the country is usually "various").
I would recommend this to a friend!
