This was not user friendly this year. Maybe one reason was new criteria and forms. Plus in the accuracy review, it pointed out 6 things that needed to be confirmed, but no directions on how to do it.

A few glitches. For example, on the state (MI) taxes, I checked “No” for the property tax credit, yet the final check gave me 19 errors for missing data in the property tax boxes. Similarly, even though the Federal program recommended and I selected the standard deduction, I got several warnings about tentative entries on Schedule A, itemized deductions, which was not used. It would be convenient if there was an option to print the few required federal forms automatically along with “print state official return” selection. The forms exist, so why not all at once?

I thought it was going to be fairly easy - NOT

I have used your product for the last several years and I thought this was the most confusing version yet and I am going to a professional tax preparation service to review this years taxes, as I have no idea what or why it did what it did. Other years it would guide you and show foundational messages and this years the was none of this. Now, this year, I had different return of the past where my brokerage (Schwab) investment activity genrated most of my income and this product interfaced with the brokerage and downloaded the transactional data. I thought it was going to be fairly easy but I was wrong. When the process ran its audit, there were several transactions that were flagged and I did not have the knowledge and the product help/AI? was pathetic; I started March, tried to interact with 'this' AI but soon I was very confused took a break and tried to work on things again but it was horrible. In the end, I just wanted to get through the taxes and file them on time. I think I spent 18 hours and that was too much on this and feel that this did not save me any money or time...
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I completed the programs and submitted them for acceptance. Both Fed.. and State said we owe 00. Both were accepted but the State acceptance came with a notice that we owed
I filled out both programs and sent them for acceptance. Both said we owed 00. The state form came with a form that said we owed $352 and sent a voucher that was supposed to be sent with the money. I could not get an explanation from anyone. The AI help program could not give any answers. I called a number for your company and also called the state tax number. Both said they did not know why the program said we owe money. They said to ignore the voucher your company emailed us. I don't want to get fined for not paying something the program said we owed.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
