This year’s software was buggy. Several times it replaced the payer’s name on the first 1099 I entered with the name from the second after I was done entering 1099s. It also deleted box 1 on a w-2 and in one case replaced box 1 on the first w-2 with the amount from box 1 on the second w-2 I entered. In each case I caught the buggy swap through error check or because the refund amount changed suddenly without explanation. Like I said, I found this year’s version buggy. Never experienced that in the past.

So-so, easy to use, but excessive income inclusion

Other tax software gives a completely different result, ending with H&R Block giving a
lower refund on federal and state, taking unnecessary. State tax refund should not have been figured in as income on my return.

The AI help is pretty useless. It could not answer the most basic questions that I had. I ended up using ChatAI and Google to answer most of my tax questions. The software was complete way to late in regards to filing date- Late March before I could file.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

I've used this for many years and it makes taxes easy and quick with no worries about paper forms and having to mail in a return.
Some feedback - I received a w-2 correcting a DD code on the original to zero. You told me that wasn't allowed. I deleted the form in order to file electronically. Hopefully that doesn't run afoul of the IRS. Also, in planning for next year, you used to prompt me to determine my quarterly deposits so my withholding would be equal to last year's withholding so as not to incurred any penalty. This year you required me to calculate my withholding based an income amounts I don't know. Maybe the rules have changed but the old way was much simpler.
