Software sailed smooth and easy. Installation almost immediate. Importation of data from last year - flawless. An annoying chore made agreeable, even pleasant.
It was good in my old DOS days, good for more than a decade now on my MAC, and always getting better.
Changes with new legislation? Covered, explained, and implemented.
I've got a simple fiscal existence and a simple return. I'm making the modal choice on most every question of the interview. Usually, at each fork or turn, my path is highlighted in blue. When it isn't - in a few cases - it's obvious why not, and which way to go. The listing of uncommon choices makes for a sweet swath through the bureaucratic bravo sierra. The program handles the paperwork protocols; I've just got to know the numbers.
And of course I don’t need to do any arithmetic (beyond counting my dependents), or find where on the form to enter my data.
I do not have to know, or decode, officialdom's language.
If you value your time, the price is one of the world's biggest bargains. If you want to skip the strain and bypass hassle, take this tack

Bought the deluxe with federal and state. Found out the software doesn’t support the states reimbursemt for personal property tax for eE-file, so I have to mail my state taxes off to get the credit. Competitors program offers it and I will use them next year. Most of the state filers will get this credit.

Been using for years. This year there was some, less than clear process. During input if 1099 DIV i saw nowhere to out the Co. IEN or TIN number. All it gave was an account number and i think was optiinal. Not until the audit portion of the return did it flag and indicate that something was missing but in the actual form it referenced a 1099R not a 1099 DIV. Regardless the IEN or TIN should be available during input of the 1099DIV. Full stop.
