I have been buying this software over 10 years and have had great success and been very happy with it's accuracy and simplicity until this year. This year I was unable to download my investment information due to I have no idea why. The investment company pointed a finger at the tax software and the software pointed another direction and on it went. I have no idea what happened and as it turned out it was not a software issue as it happened on TurboTax also. The thing is I don't really care who's fault it was, but I should have been alerted at the time of purchase. I run my numbers and perform the ritual yearly on the road. Not being able to download a mass of information caught me off guard and created a huge headache during my snowbird travels. 3 stars because I was ticked off. The software still did it's job.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had tip that were not reported by my employer. Your interview missed having me pay the amount due for Social Security and Medicare. Fortunately, I was aware that I owed this so I was able to go and find the form and complete it. But had I not been aware, the software would have let me file without paying this tax.

I am a long-time user of H&R Block software, In fact, I have been using it since the late 1980's when it was known as Taxcut. I have never had any issues with it. It always worked perfectly and was easy to use.

It couldn’t upload Merrill Lynch’s 1099-COMP, and I had to enter it manually, which is cumbersome. It’s not able to handle K-1’s. It says it’s waiting on an update. It doesn’t explain why my state upload was rejected, although it passed the review. It didn’t print the PA-V form, which is required for payment of PA tax owed.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
