It could be more user friendly. For example, when adding in amounts for a section, that section name (or income type) should appear throughout each page of the sequence. Also, the tax I owed was $48 more than the final return said it should have been. When subtracting tax withheld from tax due, I got one amount compared to the higher amount on the summary sheet that was printed at the conclusion. I had to pay IRS the higher amount. I could not figure out why this happened.

I have been using TaxCut since 2004. There are many things I don't like about it and I can't recommend it. I use it only because it is easier to continue with it than to learn a new package.
Cons: Time consuming

I appreciate the ability to download the software instead of cloud based processing. I expect that to change soon to cloud based subscription. I do not believe Block is the best choice for active market traders.

Data Issues: UI renders incorrectly bug

Several years using the software ... I had an issue years ago and contacted support which never got back to me. ChatGPT got me through this issue. The issue: 1099 & W-2 adding 1-3 or more records caused data being overwritten and screwing up my return! I was using a Mac.
