The program has several features that are not user‑friendly. H&R Block 2024 printed coupons for my prepaid state taxes, with the last one dated January 15, 2025. H&R Block 2025 then displayed a pop‑up message stating that this payment cannot be included in the federal calculation but will be accepted on the state return.
Also, in the “Tell us about your rental property” section, the line “This rental is eligible for the qualified business income deduction without the safe harbor election” appears as the last item in the “check what applies” list. I do not recall seeing this line in previous years, and as a result, I had to amend my returns.
Cons: Hard to prepare

I thought the federal tax filing was simple. However, the state tax portion has been a nightmare. I can't figure out how to fix it and get my return filed. Every time I fix the areas that are highlighted, more problems pop up including the original highlighted areas.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
