While the federal return was eventually handled adequately, the state return was badly mismanaged. It took far too much work to coax your software to produce the proper result. This was time to use Block tax software, and it is definitely the last time. I'm only here because TurboTax dropped support for Windows 10.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

One improvement I would have liked was regarding the HSA form 5498 SA. That was listed as a common issue or mistake. And I knew I had one of those forms so I went back to the HSA entries and it's never mentioned. It would have been helpful if the instructions said the amount on this form may also come in on your W-2. I kept looking for references for the form number itself in the software instructions and couldn't find it anywhere and thought something was wrong. Also, in the past I had missed putting in HSA distributions because I didn't understand what HSA distributions encompassed.
