This is my 4th year using H&R Block software. I am a convert from 20 years of TurboTax which failed to hold me when they dropped compatibliity with Quicken - the sister product.
Block is easier to use, more attractively priced and works cleanly with Quicken.

I buy this every year for macOS in Delux version with State included. And for three years in a row I have problems with downloading the "included" state program. Fails every year, need to call support to get it. And every year the software does not autoupdate - autoupdater simply fails. These thins should be trivial. It is amazing that they cannot fix their software for so many years. This year I asked their AI on their web page where a specific deduction is input in the forms, wanted to check that I did not forget. Gave completely non sensical answer. If it cannot answer trivial question which text search should answer, what it is useful for? Works, but mostly because I have used it before and know what and how on simple taxes. Other than that, hm...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've purchased the H&R tax software for many years. It is not the easiest software to use, but it does get the job done.
This year, following a move, I received a message that one of the calculations may not be right. It encouraged me to visit with an H&R tax professional for possible update. Unfortunately, this would have been another expense, so I submitted the return as is. In my opinion, the software should have calculated the percentages correctly in the beginning. It had all the figures and date ranges.

Awful. Useless for multiple states (if you move).

Many parts of this software are not automated, but depend on you to figure out amounts and fill in, With little or no guidance. The software is pretty useless if you move and have multiple states which you have to do taxes for. Only one state is included, And they charge an And they charge an arm and a leg for the other state even more than for The whole federal plus state premium version . For Delaware, it does not do part your resident or nonresident taxes. And I only found that out after I purchased an extra Delaware State program. It is useless to me and they wouldn’t even give me a refund.
