Guaranteed... to disappoint!

As usual, the deluxe edition did not support some feature of my tax return, forcing me to file a paper return. This has been the case the last 3 years. No more HR Block for me! This year it was a QBI carry forward loss not calculated in this version. You will have to wait for the update to file your return. I've been getting this notice for weeks now, and time is running out.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As usual, I found H&R Block Deluxe 2025 software to be complete with all the updates, forms. and information I needed to easily file my federal return and know it was correct without fear of an audit. The program is easy to use; has Qs and As if needed. Also contacts if you need help.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You should start each new return with a quick survey asking things like:
Are you a farmer?
Were/are you military?
Do you own your own business?
Etc...
If any of the questions are "No", don't ask the related questions during the return.
I spend most of my time reading questions about things that don't apply to me.

Good product - Updates & Functions Need Improved

I am a long time user of the product. I like its apprach towards moving through the questions for addressing items.
I also like the ability to use last years return as a "base" to not have to start from square 1.
Things I dislike, constant updates before features are shown. This effected an important part for me which was importing of brokerage data from financial institutions. as you start the process and it doesn't go through properly because the update hasn't occurred. Why can't the software be baked in like February? Constant updates are a concern that there are planning and execution issues.
An example: Injecting data from brokerage accounts works but only after the updates in like the last few weeks in March. Then all the data at then end before submitting, the product wants you to verify all data. Did it not do this as part of the upload? Also, it will not move on without adding a purchase data. If you were dollar cost averaging in, there are multiple purchase dates.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
