I am very happy with the actual product in terms of completing federal and state taxes. For a mac user the process of downloading and updating the program... in a word... sucks. The process to download and install the state tax software is, unfortunately, even worse. Then there is the whole hassle of needing to pay to file the state once taxes are done. The biggest bite comes when the fed reject your filing because of something that was not caught in the pre-filing audit and you end up paying the filing fee over and over until the fed accepts the return. This year I was charged 4 filing fees and then had to wait for 3 of them to be refunded. There simply has got to be a better, simpler way to handle this.

My second year using H&R Block tax software. The platform works well. The organization and manner in which the process unfolds for the user is also pretty good. I think the design could improve a bit as could how the click-throughs work, but it's not bad. My main issue is that it doesn't include better support for help if something goes awry.

Worked well enough. It would be nice if last years figures were displayed on screen in the same area I’m working on as I’m entering this years numbers, so I can see how they compare as I work on the return.
