I have been using HR Block for well over 10 years now and have hardest success. They walk you through all the possibilities and don't let you finish until you have answered all their questions. I have gotten the best return every year with no questions asked.

It makes doing your own taxes easy and fast and handles all the lastest changes in the federal and state tax laws with all the right questions. It also uses last years tax forms to automatically fill in a lot of personal data and tax carry over questions. At the end it checks all your input and will point out anything that is questionable

Quality has gone down. Too many times I was asked to go to the Take Me menu and then do a search for some missing pierce of data in both the 2025 and 2024 tax program. That should be handled by the program. If I can find it then you automated tax program should be able to find it. Something is not connecting the dots. Also, the 1099 - NEC tax section, personal business sections are a nightmare. I got stuck in a washing machine that I could not escape. Yhis needs to be addressed before i will use your program again.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought program early. The first time it said to download update the program crashed. Needed to call a 40 minute process to redownload program. Then I needed to reinput everything. I have been using HRBlock for years. Really disappointed.

Software is good, interview is way too complex for

Bought the Deluxe edition for my small business. That is good. Went to file simple taxes for my kids and the interview was way too complex for their needs. There should be a filter to simplify the interview for just a W-2 filing.
Cons: Time consuming
